Look: Sketch skull

  • Step 1

First, apply primer and foundation on your face. Use matte powder to give a smooth look.

  • Step 2

Use white eyeliner to mark the outlines of your eyes, mouth and nose. Mark your cheekbones to accentuate them. don’t worry about making them perfect as you’re going for a messy look anyways.

  • Step 3

Next, fill in the marked outlines using black eyeliner. Give a wispy look to the lines marking your mouth.

  • Step 4

Shade one part of the cheekbone and the area under one eye using black eye shadow. Draw straight, wispy lines under the eyes.

  • Step 5

Under the other cheekbone, draw a tree-shaped object using a liner brush. Extend the “branches” up to the brows and down to the neck area.

  • Step 6

Draw abstract shapes or designs on the unshaded part of your face. Add a bright splash of colour if you want. Make sure you keep the final skull shape in mind for this step.

  • Step 7

Highlight duller areas with white paint to make them stand.

With these steps, you’ve got the creepy skull look down pat!

Look: Red Riding Hood/Wolf

(This look was created using @nyxukcosmetics)

  • Step 1

Squeeze some liquid latex on to a palette. Using a spatula, spread some latex onto your right cheek around preciously drawn cuts. Smooth the edges as you go along. Repeat this step twice, giving the latex time to dry in between.

  • Step 2

On the left side, apply NYX HD Primer to your face.

  • Step 3

Use a very light white foundation for the lighter areas. Darken specific areas using grey eye shadows. Keep wolf’s picture in front of you as reference.

  • Step 4

Use a wet brush and a black eye shadow to draw the wolf’s eye. Extend the edges to create a hairy effect. Do the same for the brows.

  • Step 5

Mix NYX’s black and white gel liners using the spatula and palette, creating varying black and grey shades. Add hair strokes to both the lighter and the darker areas with an angled brush.

  • Step 6

Paint the left part of your lips and nose black. Extend the black paint to create a snarling impression.

  • Step 7

Add primer to the right side of your face using stick foundation over the entire area and setting the look with a translucent powder.

  • Step 8

Keep the Red Riding Hood side soft and fresh. Apply light makeup with small amounts of bronzer and blush. Apply NYX Glitter primer along with gold glitter to brighten up the eye. Finish up with a winger eyeliner and false eyebrows.

  • Step 9

Apply red liquid lipstick to the right side of the lips.

  • Step 10

Don a bright red cape on your head and shoulders. Cut up some faux fur and pin it to the top left side of your head. This is the wolf’s ear.

And that’s it! You’re all set to rock the innocent Riding Hood/Big Bad Wolf look.
